The Regional Fair of Social Enterprises from the Southwest Region, organized in cooperation with the Regional Centre for Support of Social Enterprises – the Foundation for Supporting Enterprises ESA Ohrid, was held on 25 September 2022, in front of the Nova Riviera Hotel in Ohrid.
Eleven social enterprises from the Southwestern Planning Region exhibited and presented their products, handicrafts and services.
The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ohrid, Percho Bozhinovski, officially opened the Regional Fair.
“Social enterprises have evolved from an innovative economic model into a standard one and their number is growing. They allow for the inclusion of all persons who are left without secure livelihoods…The very operation of such companies should serve as an example and encourage other economic stakeholders to join by contributing to this process”, Bozhinoski said.
Within the framework of the Regional Fair, a workshop was held on the use of the Law on Public Procurement and the possibility of using reserved contracts for supporting social enterprises. At the workshop, our guests from other EU Member States visiting North Macedonia through the Vishegrad Group Project, shared their experiences from Poland.
