At the end of May 2022, the project published a call to select one competition entry from the submitted designs of logo accompanied with a call – to-action slogan, which will be further used / applied as a logo on goods and services developed and sold by the social enterprises in the country.
The main purpose of the selected logo is to provide brand recognition among customers, consumers, general public to easily identify and support social enterprises work. The winning logo will be used in practice to advertise the fact that the goods or services provided by social enterprises that use it have been created for a social purpose rather than a for-profit purpose.
The Call was open for 4 weeks or until 27.06.2022. 48 proposals arrived from 32 different entities (some have provided up to 3 logos). There were proposals from distinguished designers, professors of design, advertising agencies but also from young people, starting from 17 years old.
The evaluation committee consisted from 5 members in order to make sure that decision can be achieved, was mixture of people working on communication, representatives from the MLSP and external expert was done so that more aspects and views are taken in consideration and the decision is made objectively.
In a series of meetings, the evaluation committee evaluated the relevance of the proposed concepts, originality and artistry, aesthetic appeal and adaptability.
It was of utmost importance to evaluate whether the proposed concepts relate to the social entrepreneurship – where the society instead of profit is the focus, do they provoke interest and build awareness based on its originality, and finally is the slogan obviously connected to social entrepreneurship.
The three shortlisted candidates had an opportunity to showcase their concepts. Based on the initial scoring and showcase event the evaluation committee unanimously chose the proposed solution from Stole Kitinovikj as the winner of the Call.
The winner logo is simple, symbolizing the imperfections that the marginalized groups need to live with. At the same time, it is two people shaking hands and in a way it is a business person. The colours show diversity and can be made in the same colours as the visual identity of the Centre for SE, making a link between the two.
The slogan – Support, make changes happen is Call to action but not connected to purchase, which should be more positively perceived by the citizens. Most interesting is that the word changes can be substituted in the copy of the campaign or the usage of the SE which brings special value to the proposals. As presented bellow, it can be changed to inclusive society, pure environment etc. depending on the subject and the work done which is very good for diverse and creative application.
In addition, the logo can be used as a stamp and also in negative. It can be on different colour background depending on the sector the SE is in.
